One of Android’s biggest strengths is deep customization — but the stock system doesn’t let you change individual app icons directly. You’ll need a launcher or a dedicated tool.
Method 1: Use a Launcher (Nova, Action, Microsoft Launcher…)
Install a launcher that supports icon packs. Long-press an app icon → Edit or Customize → pick a new icon from a pack or image file.
Method 2: Icon changer apps
Apps like Icon Changer or X Icon Changer can create shortcuts with custom icons without root.
Notes
- Icons may revert after uninstalling the launcher.
- On Android 12+, shortcut permissions may vary by manufacturer.
- Root is usually not required on modern devices.
